Solar Eclipse Community Event at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Mon Apr 8, 2024
1:00pm to 5:00pm ET
Age: 3 and up
Price: FREE
Gather on the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s lawns to marvel at the sky as the moon passes between the Earth and sun and observe the effects of the eclipse on the garden's collections. Will blooms be fooled into closing? Will leaves turn in? Participate in a garden-wide experiment and share your discoveries.
The eclipse will last from 2:10 to 4:36pm, peaking at 3:25pm.
Protective eyewear is necessary for looking at the sun and will be available while supplies last.
Blankets are welcome! Outside food is not permitted but snacks may be purchased at the Canteen.
